That has to be at one of the kindergarten protests, fighting for the continuation of a 5 star education system for our youngest children. I went along to the one in Wellington, but couldn't march all the way as I had to teach (im also an early childhood teacher). Good to see people behind it
hmmmmmmmmmm, I'm going to say Auckland. Perhaps at Myers Park, near the Auckland Kindergarten Associatiom. Hoping they don't have to strike again, that they will be listened to now. Good to read that you enjoyed the protest
bingo, it is at Myers Park - I am psychically sending you a chocolate fish right now ;-) or at least i would if i could spell pasychically. you see the second attempt is even worse. oh well.
the protest was fantastic - they are such an inspiring bunch of teachers - i sincerely hope this week will bring them good news, although unfortunately i fear it will not.
I know, I share your apprehension. I love being an early childhood teacher, my kids are great and we should get a fair deal. I am behind NZEI all the way on this one, happy to have my membership levies support these teacher. Probably want to teach in kindergarten soon so I too will be keeping a close eye on what happens. Will be there if further strikes occur. We shall find out soon...........
Span likes to think of herself as a mysterious interwab force for feminism and leftwingedness. However the truth is, as always, more mundane, what with blogging being the natural home of the frustrated and rant-inclined. Span is most certainly of their ilk. Sometimes she even talks about herself in the third person. We rest our case.
