John Wyndham fan eh?
Oh yeah.
Although having said that I haven't read anything of his for a while. Luckily I have nearly everything in second-hand penguin paperbacks to peruse at my leisure :-)
Haven't read him since I was a teenager (which is a very, very long time ago), but I do recall reading a History of Science Fiction (also a long time ago) which suggested that Wyndham was one of the natural successors to HG Wells in that both of them wrote of protagonists who met whatever calamity they were presented with, in the drawing room.
That stuck with me for some reason. Should the big one ever come to these here parts, I hope that I have a drawing room in which to meet it myself.
