how do you find the time?

Just been a good little blogger, counting up my posts and comments for DPF's December stats *pats self on back, avoiding sunburn*

I thought, my I've been good this month, but then I checked the November stats and in fact I've done slightly less posts and had slightly less comments. Not a big surprise, given the season, but it leads me to wonder - how do you super uber mega bloggers find the time?

I can't blog at work (although I do read them and comment occassionally from there) so have to save it up for home time. And I do have another internet addiction that I have to feed as well - I expect that will drop off in favour of blogging by winter. Sure I have real life stuff as well, but I just cannot imagine a time when I could possibly get anywhere near 100 posts in a month.

So come on, spill - how do you guys do it?

I cheat by uploading lots and lots of stuff which I'd written years and years ago.

Thanks for the stats. I don't sleep much, which helps gives me time to blog.

See, you'll notice that my post count has gone dramatically down n the last few weeks. I only post things on the internet when I'm insane, which happens a lot towards the end of th school year. Now that my overheated brain meats have cooled, I don't have much else to say...

Hey there. Happy new year. i had a couple of get yourself a life months in sep oct and nov then dropped right off in dec. time commitment is huge. if you choose not to sleep you too can get there. it helps to post with a few comments on anything you find interesting. rather than comment you comment about your post. bring the story back to your own blog.

i am suprised that one of your resolutions is not to get hooked up with or terminate the other object of mara' affections. or has that lawsuit gone away?

so basically your suggestions all seem to revolve around:

1. less sleep
2. more alcohol
3. get friends
4. have insane job

i guess what it comes down to is sacrifice - sacrificing sleep, sacrificing health, sacrificing control, sacrificing sanity.

hmmmmmm, i shall consider these. but i suspect that i will be staying in the around 30 - 50 posts a month club somehow.

btw i do have an insane job, but if i blogged about it that would be a BIG mistake.

ps sage - those were my resolutions for 2004. 2005's are yet to come. The Lawsuit That Dare Not Speak It's Own Name is currently awaiting response from FATW.

Time - that's basically all there is to it. Whether you get it by having lots to spare, or make it by sacrificing something like sleep or bad TV is irrelevant; you need time to infoblob and research and chew it over and compose.

Unfortunately, I find myself with less time than I like - even when I have lots of it. There's just so much to read that I can barely keep up.

Lack of life, girlfriend and fulltime job seems to do the trick of being able to "produce" 100 entries a day.

I find it hard to reach that level of posting too, but if you look at some of those who do, they do it like this.

Cut and paste some text from a newspaper article or another blogger's post. Add "heh" or "indeed" to it. Repeat 20 times per day and you'll easily surpass 100 posts per month.

I think that's one thing that NRT is particularly good at - he generally expands on something, does the research and the reading, thus providing some very interesting posts. He does do the short link posts too, but if you took these out of the count he would still be very very high and certainly the quality of his posts is incredible.

Perhaps we shouldn't be so worried about how we rate in DPF's monthly stats too - I sense some bitterness creeping in? (whereas of course I was merely exasperated ;-) )

This is so amazing Span. Great to hear to finally found some time to blog. No matter how busy I am, I find time and make sure to post the blogs on the scheduled day.
