with a flower in their hair
Noticed last night, on the bottom of this Stuff article about political polls, a paid Google Ad for the Freedom Party, the offshoot that sprang from Act at their last conference.
Looks like they haven't quite run out of fertilizer yet.

I notice at the top of their policies the abolition of capital gains tax - I wasn't aware we had any?
Also, a strong focus on abolishing the "give way to the right rule - before breakfast". I guess there might be a lot of crashes amongst those who hadn't listened to the breakfast news..
well some people do say you should try to do something impossible before breakfast...
Yes, I saw that too about a week ago on the blogsite 'NZ Political comments'. I couldn't believe my eyes at first given the incongruity of the philosophies (I know those freedom folk), and wondered why this blog was running such a banner.
Later it disappered and was replaced by an ad, at which point I assumed it was part of the deal, beyond the control of the blogger.
yes i think the Google ads are at their discretion - there will be a 'bot that searches for keywords in the article/on the page in question, then match the ads to it in terms of keywords the advertiser has specified.
are there actually any members of the Freedom Party beyond the two guys who left Act?
From what I understand they have quite a group with them, most former ACT activists disaffected over internal matters. It would do both ACT and the Freedom party a disservice to elaborate.
The Google ad seems to have disappeared, and so has the freedom party. I get an error message when I try to view the website.
that's weird, link is still working for me (the Freedom Party one in the post, didn't try the Stuff link again) - is it working for anyone else?
